How long is Aviation Summer Camp?
It is a four-day camp, Monday through Thursday from 8:30am - 2:30pm.
What is the difference between a Demo Flight and the Flight Experience?
A Demo Flight is a hands-on experience under the supervision of a certified flight instructor and can be scheduled any time during the year.
The Flight Experience is only offered to camp participants and can only be scheduled during the camp week being attended. This approximately 45-minute flight is a group flight where the front seat is randomly selected.
Can my child attend multiple weeks, will every week be the same?
Yes, that is an option. Every week follows the same curriculum but is adapted to the group of students attending the camp that week.
My child completed the Aviation Summer Camp, what now?
We offer the Advanced Simulator Camp for ages 11-17. Participants will delve into the comprehensive knowledge and hands-on practice essential for earning a private pilot certificate. The camp demands a high level of maturity, attention to detail, and unwavering focus from each participant.
How old does my child need to be to start actual flight training?
You can begin flight lessons at any age, but you must be at least 16 years old to make your first solo flight. To get your actual private pilot certificate, you need to be at least 17 years old.
How much is flight training?
The total cost for a Private Pilot License (PPL) in the United States generally ranges between $15,000 and $25,000. While the FAA minimum requirement is 40 hours, most students require 60 to 75 hours to reach proficiency, significantly impacting the final cost.
